The photograph is an aerial photograph taken on St. Pete Beach after the oil spill of 1993. On August 10, 1993, three vessels, the freighter Balsa 37, the barge Ocean 255, and the barge Bouchard 155, collided near the entrance of Tampa Bay, Florida. In the photograph there are construction machines being used to clean the beaches to rid the area of the oil. |
