Workers cleaning shoreline after oil spill

Abstract/Description: The photograph displays workers cleaning the coast of Pinellas County after the oil spill in 1993. On August 10, 1993, three vessels, the freighter Balsa 37, the barge Ocean 255, and the barge Bouchard 155, collided near the entrance of Tampa Bay, Florida. The workers are wearing protective clothing and using equipment to remove the oil from the water and collect it in bags along the shore.
