Abstract/Description: This postcard shows three rows of schoolchildren lying on their stomachs and reading books while on the beach. Three women, appearing to be their teachers, are shown with one sitting at the end of each row. Both the students and teachers are dressed in their swim suits and look to be enjoying a relaxing moment on a sunny day. Waves can be seen in the background coming onto the sandy shores. The caption on the back of the original post card can be read except for the last line due to damage. It reads: "Here on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, many classes of the Pass-a-Grille Beach Public School, are conducted. Under the healthful rays of the sun, lessons are eagerly learned by these sun..."
