Photograph of Joan Haley at lamppost

Abstract/Description: Joan Haley was a journalist and socialite who retired to Pass-a-Grille in the 1950s. She purchased the dilapidated Pass-a-Grille Community Church building, which was at risk of being torn down following the relocation of the congregation. Upon her death, she left the structure to Pinellas County; the building is now home to the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum. In this image, we see Joan replacing a street lamp. Something that can be gathered from this image is the stature of Joan Haley and that she was on the taller side.
